- Child's handmade watercolor crayon and paint drawing created by Olivia Perez Johntry, daughter of Anthony Perez. The multicolored drawing includes a red flower and purple dots; its handwritten text reads: "Where There's | NO More | FAMILY | Your FRIENDS | TAKE OVER." The drawing was used to create a feather for the 2006 America's Camp collaborative art project, titled The Feathers of the Phoenix.

Olivia Perez Johntry was ten years old when her father, Cantor Fitzgerald technical specialist Anthony Perez, died on 9/11. Inspired by forensic anthropologists working to identify victims of the attacks, she became a high school science teacher. Every year, she talks to her students about 9/11 and the mental health challenges she faced in the aftermath.
To Perez Johntry, America’s Camp’s safe atmosphere “felt like a warm hug,” where campers were not defined solely as “kids of 9/11.” As an adult, she volunteered at Camp Sea Stars North, created for children affected by the 2012 mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School, as “a way to pay it back.”
