Curator's Comment Renée May was a genuine frequent flyer, enjoying a long career as a flight attendant with American Airlines and taking many trips for pleasure. When not in the air, Renée shared her other passion—art—with children who visited Baltimore’s Walters Art Museum, where she was a docent. Shortly before 9/11, Renée learned that she and her fiancé, David, were expecting their first baby. On September 11, Renée was serving as a flight attendant aboard Flight 77.
