Description
Set of 27 brass keys and a plastic key card belonging to the Operations Supervisor for Safety and Security at the World Trade Center.
Historical Notes
Richard Pietruszki, of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, carried these keys in his role as Operations Supervisor for Safety and Security and Deputy Fire Safety Director for the World Trade Center Complex. The keys gave him access to elevators, stairways, operations and supply rooms, restrooms, and virtually every door intended for Port Authority employees. On September 11, 2001, Pietruszki had the day off. He arrived at the World Trade Center after both towers had collapsed, rendering the keys useless.
