Description Wooden bowling plaque belonging to Michael Massaroli. The text on the plaque reads: "Jamar Lanes | 1986-1987 | Hi Average | Mon. 4 Man"
Historical Notes Brooklyn native Michael Massaroli lived on Staten Island with his wife, Diane, and their two young children. He bowled in a weekly league, watched every New York Mets baseball game that he could, and played on the company softball team at Cantor Fitzgerald, where he was vice president of operations. On September 11, Michael was at work on the North Tower’s 101st floor. He was 38 years old.
Curator's Comment Before he was old enough to hoist his own ball, Michael Massaroli often accompanied his father to bowling alleys and helped him keep score. As an adult, Michael’s average was a respectable 190, and he bowled weekly in a men’s league at Bowling on the Green on Staten Island where he resided. September 11, 2001, was a designated bowling night, and Michael had planned to head to the alley after work. HIDE
