Description
Red duffel-style trauma bag with black zippers and strap. The bag is worn from use. "NYDH O1V" is written across it in black marker. Contents within the bag include plastic airway tubes, an adult manual resuscitator with oxygen reservoir bag, oxygen masks, a sterile IV, bandages, dressing, tape, a catheter, a syringe, alcohol prep wipes, latex gloves, and a stiff-neck collar.

Historical Notes
Among the first on scene at the World Trade Center was paramedic Juana Lomi. Standing outside NYU Downtown Hospital, Lomi witnessed the passage of hijacked Flight 11 flying low overhead and felt the ground rumble as the plane struck the North Tower. Lomi and her partner immediately drove to the scene and parked their ambulance near the North Tower.
Inside the ambulance was a red emergency trauma kit like this one, stocked with supplies that would be needed to treat the injured. Lomi and her partner remained on duty throughout the morning, seeking shelter when the towers collapsed.
Lomi was later photographed by LIFE Magazine photographer, Joe McNally for his project, Faces of Ground Zero: Portraits of the Heroes of September 11, 2001.
