Description
Recovered pin-back button melted and fused to compacted dust and concrete. The button originally depicted an image of the Twin Towers with the Dean Witter Reynolds logo in the center. Printed text around the image reads: "We Lost Our Space...| But Kept Our Pace!" The pin is heavily damaged with warping, discoloration, and numerous scratches.
Historical Notes
At the time of the 1993 bombing, financial services company Dean Witter was the World Trade Center’s largest tenant, occupying more than 20 floors in the South Tower. Using the tagline “We lost our space . . . but kept our pace!,” Dean Witter moved back in the spring of 1993. This pin was excavated from the World Trade Center site after 9/11.
