Historical Notes Born in New York City, Erik Isbrandtsen grew up in Marblehead, Massachussetts, and attended Babson College in Boston. Erik played soccer on Babson’s team and continued to play after graduation, when he settled in New York City. He also enjoyed golf and basketball. Erik worked as a trader at Cantor Fitzgerald. On September 11, he was in his office on the 104th floor of the North Tower. He was 30 years old.
Curator's Comment On the morning of Tuesday, September 11, 2001, as on any business day, tens of thousands of people commuted to the World Trade Center and lower Manhattan by car, ferry, subway, bus, bicycle, and train. Erik Isbrandtsen, a trader for Cantor Fitzgerald, rode the subway from his home in Manhattan to reach his job on the 104th floor of the North Tower. This MetroCard was recovered after 9/11. HIDE
