Description Employee review dated June 15, 2000, and signed by Joseph M. Calandrillo. The paper is torn and heavily creased. The edges of the sheet are singed.
Historical Notes Born in Brooklyn, Joseph Calandrillo lived there with his wife, Deborah, until 1997. Then Joseph convinced Deborah to move to the country, to Hawley, Pennsylvania. A former minor league pitcher, Joseph worked as an accountant at Reinsurance Solutions, a Marsh & McLennan subsidiary. On September 11, he was at work on the 94th floor of the North Tower. Joseph was 49 years old.
Curator's Comment Thousands of pieces of paper blew into the air, littering the streets below, as windows in the Twin Towers shattered on 9/11. That evening, St. Petersburg Times reporter Tom Drury retrieved some papers near the site. Almost one year later, he traced a signature on what appeared to be a performance evaluation of Joseph Calandrillo, an accountant at Reinsurance Solutions, a Marsh & McLennan subsidiary, 94th floor, North Tower. Drury returned that sheet to Calandrillo’s widow. HIDE
