Historical Notes
Lifelong Bronx resident Yvette Moreno lived with her mother and brother. While working as a receptionist at Carr Futures on the North Tower’s 92nd floor, she was taking college classes to become a guidance counselor. Yvette had bought her first car, a Mitsubishi, shortly before September 11. That day, she was leaving her office building and was struck by debris from the South Tower. She was 24 years old.

Yvette Moreno left her Bronx home early on September 11 to commute downtown to her job at Carr Futures in the North Tower of the World Trade Center. Yvette had been promoted to receptionist after serving in a temporary position at the firm. Concurrently, she was attending Lehman College, pursuing a degree in sociology and psychology. Shortly after the North Tower was struck, Yvette called her family, indicating that she was heading home. Her identification card and bracelet were among the items later recovered and returned to her mother.
