Curator's Comment On September 10, 2001, Marisa Dinardo Schorpp hosted a birthday celebration for her mother, Ester. She treated her to a special dinner at Windows on the World, the restaurant on the top floors of the North Tower, just above Marisa’s office. Joining them was Stacey Lynn Peak, Marisa’s Cantor Fitzgerald coworker and good friend. Although the two young women had enjoyed a late night out, they made it to work early the next morning and were in the office when hijacked Flight 11 struck the building. Both were killed as a result of the attack. Months later, Marisa’s purse was found at Ground Zero, the birthday dinner receipt still inside.
