- Tall glass votive candle. Etched on the glass is script text that reads: "September 11, | 2001 | Always Remember." The floral-scented, pale yellow candle wax is partially melted.

After her son, Bradley James Fetchet, an equities trader at Keefe, Bruyette & Woods, was killed on 9/11, Mary Fetchet drew on her experience as a social worker to co-found Voices of September 11th, now known as Voices Center for Resilience (VOICES). Since 2001, VOICES has provided long-term support to 9/11 families, responders, and survivors. VOICES has delivered more than 180,000 hours of assistance to the 9/11 community and expanded its mission through resilience education to communities affected by mass violence worldwide. Fetchet also became a leading advocate for the creation of the 9/11 Commission.
Candles and teddy bears are two comforting gifts offered by VOICES to members of communities that have experienced mass violence. VOICES opens its 9/11 symposium and other gatherings with a candle-lighting ceremony.
