Historical Notes
Glen Braham began his career as a police officer in Jamaica. After emigrating to the United States he became a security guard at 200 Liberty Street at the World Financial Center, directly across West Street from the World Trade Center complex. Braham rose through the ranks to a position of authority at the World Financial Center, where he was at work on September 11, 2001. He currently serves as the Director of the Fire Life & Safety Department at Brookfield Properties.
On 9/11, Braham took charge of the evacuation of the building occupants at 200 Liberty, directly across the street from where the attacks were unfolding. Two weeks later, Braham returned downtown, witnessing the recovery of Ground Zero nearby as well as repairs to 200 Liberty Street and other buildings that had sustained damage at the World Financial Center. This lanyard and various access passes granted him access to the restricted area in the weeks after the event.
