Historical Notes
A topping-off ceremony celebrating the placement of the last steel beam on the North Tower was held on December 23, 1970. Individuals who helped build the tower, then known as Tower A, were given commemorative key chains to mark the accomplishment. This particular key chain belonged to John L. Tishman (1926–2016), who served as construction manager for the World Trade Center project in the 1960s.
