Historical Notes
This tea pot is part of a tea set that was kept inside a lower Manhattan apartment on 9/11. The dust-covered set was photographed by Edward Keating and the photo was published in the New York Times. About two weeks after 9/11, Elaine and Ron Williamson were cleared to gather some of their belongings from their apartment a block south from the WTC site. Elaine described cleaning the tea set and using it again as “returning something back to normalcy.”
