This pin was donated by Joseph D'Aleo, a supervisor with the New York City Department of Sanitation on September 11, 2001. D'Aleo witnessed the terrorist attack and assisted throughout the duration of the recovery period at Ground Zero. He later suffered from multiple 9/11-related health issues.
