Shoe care kit from the World Trade Center Vista International hotel. The oval-shaped kit is made of dark-green plastic with subtle marbling. "THE | NEW | YORK | VISTA | SHOE CARE" is printed in gold-colored text on the lid of the kit. Inside is a yellow polishing sponge.
Opening in 1981, the Vista International was the first hotel to open in lower Manhattan since the 1830s. Located in 3 World Trade Center at the base of the Twin Towers, it was managed by Hilton International and included meeting spaces, eating establishments, and a gym. It was sold in 1995 to Marriott following extensive renovations resulting from damage caused by the 1993 World Trade Center bombing. The building was completely destroyed on 9/11.
