Print by Nicholas Solovioff (1927-1994), dated 1970, depicting the interior of the North Tower lobby and mezzanine levels under construction. A portion of the floor has been erected, with the building's iconic steel tridents also visible. The artist's signature appears in the lower right corner.
To capture the grandeur of the World Trade Center’s construction, architectural artists Lili Réthi and Nicholas Solovioff made sketches for the Port Authority beginning in 1967. These prints chronicle the rise of the Twin Towers through 1973. Books of these illustrations went to World Trade Center consultants, collaborators, and prospective tenants as gifts.
