Description
New York City Police Department trading card with Robert Schnelle and his K-9 partner Atlas on the front. The back of the card includes "facts" about Atlas such as his breed, birth date, and primary jobs. His "most notable" job is listed as "Service at the World Trade Center performing Search and Rescue." The card was produced by Mint Cards in 2001.
Historical Notes
NYPD Officer Robert Schnelle and his canine partner Atlas, a German shepherd, deployed to lower Manhattan on the morning of September 11, 2001. Together, the two searched 7 World Trade Center before its collapse and continued to work at Ground Zero until the recovery concluded in May 2002.
