Multi-page advertising guide for the concourse shops at the World Trade Center. The front of the guide has little squares with illustrations in them of various products like watches, toys, ornaments, food, electronics, etc. Santa Claus is in the lower left corner. "1988 World Trade Center Holiday Shopping & Entertainment Guide" is printed around the cover. In the lower right corner is printed text: "45 days of songs, Santa and special holiday events, including a toys and games fair, the video wall spectacular and more than 60 great restaurants and stores! Join us Nov. 21 thru Jan 4." On the back is an illustration of the Twin Towers and people holding up "coupons" and other items. Printed text reads: "The stores of The World Trade Center Concourse invite you to | Celebrate The Season with 'The World's Best Buys.' | Clip and save up to $150 with valuable coupons | ...On everything from flowers to cookware to to [sic] candy." At the very bottom is printed: "The stores of The World Trade Center Concourse - the largest indoor shopping mall in Manhattan."
During the 1980s, advertising firm, Comart, contracted with the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey to create promotional material for stores and restaurants on the Concourse level of the World Trade Center. Judith Pucci, donor and creator of many of these brochures and advertisements recalled, “These materials speak to the daily retail life of the World Trade Center, one of the multiple facets of the complex that made the Trade Center a source of entertainment and shopping, as well as a workplace.”
