Memorial lanyard created in memory of Waleska Martinez. The lanyard is white with red printed text that reads: "WALESKA MARTINEZ 'UNA BORICUA PARA LA HISTORIA' SEPTEMBER 11, 2001 | Flight 93." Attached to the lanyard are three paper cards: one with a photograph of Martinez, the second with biographical information about her, and the third with a graphic for a 20th anniversary memorial service held in her memory. The reverse side hss an American flag with its field of stars replaced with the number "93" surrounded by stars. "Our nation will eternally honor the heroes of Flight 93 | 9/11/2001 to 9/11/2021 | 20th Anniversary" is also printed on the card.

Historical Notes
Waleska Martinez was born in Santurce, Puerto Rico. After earning her bachelor’s degree in business administration in 1986, she moved to New York for an intensive English course, later settling in New Jersey. She joined the U.S. Census Bureau and rose to become a supervisor. On September 11, she and a coworker, Marion Britton, boarded Flight 93 for a seminar in San Francisco. Waleska was 37 years old.
