Historical Notes
Lifelong Brooklyn resident Michael Bocchino lived with his elderly parents and two uncles. A firefighter for 22 years, Michael kept a scrapbook about blazes he fought. He served as a chief’s aide with FDNY Battalion 48, helping to deploy units. On September 11, Firefighter Bocchino was last seen at the South Tower. He was 45 years old.
