Historical Notes Lifelong New Yorker Nestor Cintron grew up on the Lower East Side of Manhattan. He was a science fiction fan and favored books by Carl Sagan and Michael Crichton. A broker at Cantor Fitzgerald, where his mother also worked, Nestor arrived earlier than she did on September 11. From his office on the North Tower’s 105th floor, he paged her “911,” warning her not to enter the building. Nestor was 26 years old.
