Historical Notes
Born in Vila Nova de Gaia, Portugal, Manuel DaMota lived in Valley Stream, Long Island. He had three sons and was expecting a fourth child with his wife, Barbara. Employed by Bronx Builders, Manuel was a skilled woodworker and project manager. On September 11, he was with colleagues on the North Tower’s 107th floor, meeting with Windows on the World staff about building a wine room. He was 43 years old.
