Description
Mixed media collage and oil on canvas titled September 11th by Elena Keller. The piece depicts images of the attacks, Ground Zero, recovery workers, and Osama bin Laden taken from period newspapers and magazines, then cut and copied to acid-free paper and attached onto the canvas with an acrylic matte medium. The images of the attack and its subsequent destruction are collaged into a dark-blue spiral shape that moves vertically across the canvas. Images of bin Laden and the perpetrators are placed outside the spiral in jagged shapes resembling lighting. The piece is primarily black and shades of blue.
