Historical Notes
This particular sign was posted on a trailer near the area used to decontaminate the workers at Fresh Kills Landfill. It was situated immediately prior to entering the food area and after the boot washing/Tyvek removal area. Inside the trailer where the sign was posted were showers and numerous sinks; there workers would wash up prior to going to the mess hall. A board with the readings of site contaminants and their levels was updated daily, along with weather conditions.
