Historical Notes Native New Yorker Richard Morgan lived in Glen Rock, New Jersey, with his wife, Patricia. They had four grown children. A vice president of Con Edison’s emergency management department, Richard still descended into manholes and basements to work with his crews. On September 11, he was trying to reach an electrical substation and help firefighters navigate the system near the towers. He was 66 years old.
