Recovered New York State Police identification card issued to Ronald G. Hoerner. The card includes Hoerner's photograph on the right, the New York State coat of arms in the center, and printed text that reads: "NEW YORK | STATE POLICE | This is to certify that Ronald G. Hoerner whose photograph and signature appear hereon is a regularly appointed Investigator in the New York State Police." The card is faded and dusty.

Queens native Ronald Hoerner lived in Massapequa, Long Island, with his wife, Barbara. He had three stepdaughters and six grandchildren. Ronald had served as a state trooper before joining Summit Security Services. He worked as a resident security manager at the World Trade Center. On September 11, Ronald was seen helping a woman evacuate from the South Tower. He was 58 years old.
