Born in Great Kills, Staten Island, Michael DeRienzo lived in Hoboken, New Jersey. Michael planned to meet his sister in Chicago to attend a Cubs baseball game the weekend after September 11. He was also preparing to run a marathon in Dublin, Ireland, later that month. On September 11, Michael was on the North Tower’s 104th floor, where he worked as a Cantor Fitzgerald vice president. He was 35 years old.
