Description
National Defense service medal and bars belonging to William F. Fallon. The medal features an image of an eagle holding a sword and an olive branch, as well as text that reads: "NATIONAL DEFENSE." The medal is attached to a ribbon with a wide yellow stripe in the center, flanked by narrow stripes of red, white, and blue and wide red stripes. The medal is accompanied by a corresponding bar of the same color as well as a green bar with blue, red, and yellow stripes.

Historical Notes
Yonkers, New York native William Fallon lived in Rocky Hill, New Jersey, with his wife, Brenda. The couple had raised a son. William took up running in his forties and was training for a half marathon in Philadelphia on September 16. On September 11, William, a Port Authority general manager, went to work on the North Tower’s 62nd floor. He was 53 years old.
