Historical Notes
Brooklyn-born Kevin Dowdell lived in Queens with his wife, RoseEllen, and their two teenage sons. During 22 years as an FDNY firefighter, Kevin aided rescue efforts after the bombings at the World Trade Center in 1993 and in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, in 1995. On September 11, Lieutenant Dowdell responded to the World Trade Center with Rescue Company 4. He was 46 years old.
