Description
Flier for a respite/relief center for recovery workers located at 100 Gold Street providing food, water, and quiet sleep areas.
Historical Notes
Within days of 9/11, places where rescue and recovery workers could grab a cup of coffee, eat a meal, or simply unwind sprang up near Ground Zero. Some relief centers evolved as part of disaster response plans of the Salvation Army and American Red Cross. Others were spontaneous initiatives.
