Historical Notes
Brooklyn-born Kenneth Marino lived in Monroe, New York, with his wife, Katrina, and their two young children. He began firefighting as a volunteer at age 18. He joined the FDNY a decade later and served at Rescue Company 1. On his off-hours, Kenneth worked as a disc jockey. On September 11, Firefighter Marino responded to the World Trade Center with his unit. He was 40 years old.
