FBI "Fly Team" challenge coin. The front of the coin features the FBI seal in the center framed by the scales of justice and laurel leaves of fame and distinction. The surrounding text reads: "Department of Justice | Federal Bureau of Investigation." On the reverse side of the coin, the image of a globe sits in the center with a sword and scale of justice in front. The surrounding text reads: "FIDELITY - BRAVERY - INTEGRITY | NOS STO PARATUS," which translates to “we stand ready” or “we stand prepared.” Around the coin’s outer border is additional text: "FBI COUNTERTERRORISM DIVISION | FLY TEAM."

Historical Notes
After 9/11, the U.S. government mobilized intelligence and federal law enforcement agencies to share data and expertise with each other, U.S. military partners, international allies, and local informants to combat vast terrorist networks. The influx and analysis of recovered items increased dramatically.
The Fly Team is a small group of counterterrorism investigators based at FBI Headquarters who are ready to deploy anywhere in the world on a moment’s notice. Collaborating with other U.S. government agencies and foreign partner-nation entities, the Fly Team aims to detect, penetrate, and disrupt terrorist networks.
