Prayer card created in memory of Joseph Gerard Leavey. The front of the card features a photograph of Leavey wearing his formal dress uniform and printed text: "Lt. JOSEPH G. LEAVEY | Ladder 15 | F.D.N.Y." The back of the card includes printed text: "In loving memory of | Lt. Joseph G. Leavey | November 13, 1955 | September 11, 2001," and the Fireman's Prayer.

Historical Notes
Native New Yorker Joseph Leavey lived in Pelham, New York, with his wife, Carole. Two of their three children were still at home. An architecture fan whose favorite buildings were the Twin Towers, Joseph worked as a construction engineer before joining FDNY Ladder Company 15. On September 11, Lieutenant Leavey was heard on a radio transmission on the South Tower’s 78th floor. He was 45 years old.
