Description Golf ball belonging to Gilbert Franco Granados. The Boiler & Mechanic Association of New York logo is printed on the ball.
Historical Notes Born in El Paso, Texas, Gilbert Granados lived in Hicksville, Long Island, with his wife, Teresa, and their two teenage daughters. He was a U.S. Coast Guard reservist whose military bent showed in his hobbies: reading Tom Clancy novels and studying the Civil War. Gilbert was a loss control consultant at Aon Corporation. On September 11, he was at work on the South Tower’s 98th floor. He was 51 years old.
Curator's Comment Granados did not start golfing until he was in his forties, but he became an avid golf enthusiast once he began playing. Due to his background in engineering, he had been a longtime member of the Boiler & Mechanic Association of New York and obtained this golf ball from them. HIDE
