Description Gold wedding band belonging to Edna Cintron. The ring features an imprinted "x" pattern.
Historical Notes Born in Puerto Rico, Edna Cintron lived in Queens with her husband, William. She had a grown daughter. Edna and William ran a flower shop together called Sweet William’s, in Manhattan’s Spanish Harlem. Edna also worked full time as an administrative assistant at Marsh & McLennan. On September 11, she was at her office on the 97th floor of the North Tower. Edna was 46 years old.
Curator's Comment When William Cintron met his future wife, Edna, at a party, he "fell in love at first sight," he later said. The couple picked out these rings for Edna to mark their engagement and marriage in 1989. Edna and William held full-time jobs while William also learned the floral business. Later, they owned and managed three flower shops. Shortly before 9/11, William purchased new rings as an “upgrade.” Edna kept her original rings at home and wore the new ones to work at the World Trade Center. HIDE
