Description 1904 Indian Head penny belonging to Edward W. Schunk.
Historical Notes New York native Edward Schunk lived in Baldwin on Long Island with his wife, Lisa. He spent weekend mornings golfing at his local country club, where he had won the annual tournament three times. He also played on Florida courses near the couple’s Palm Beach condominium. On September 11, Edward, a government bond broker with Cantor Fitzgerald, was at work on the North Tower’s 105th floor. He was 54 years old.
Curator's Comment Schunk was an avid golfer and used this penny to mark his golf ball while playing at the Rockville Link Country Club. The penny was donated to the Museum by his golfing friend, Frank Sandie. HIDE
