Historical Notes Brooklyn-born Kathleen Moran lived in Bay Ridge. On holidays, she cooked big meals with produce from her garden. When traveling with relatives or friends, she supplied the snacks and the music, favoring doo-wop and show tunes. A property insurance underwriter for Zurich, on September 11, Kathleen was at a meeting at Aon Corporation on the South Tower’s 105th floor. She was 42 years old.
Curator's Comment One friend remembered Kathleen Moran as a world class “fairy godmother” to the children in her life. When her sister went through a divorce, Kathleen took her nieces and nephews on a Disney vacation so that they would have happy memories during a tough time. When her nephew was born, Kathleen crocheted him this blanket. It remained in the family and was later passed to another child born in 2004. After Kathleen’s death on 9/11, a niece reflected that she was “the reason I am who I am today.” HIDE
