Patricia Kuras was born in Brooklyn. She lived on Staten Island and cared for her mother. Their home was decorated with Patricia’s treasured collections of records, Christmas ornaments, and her memorabilia from a trip to Ireland. On September 11, Patricia was on the 93rd floor of the North Tower at Marsh & McLennan, where she was the facilities manager. She was 42 years old.

The magnet bears a striking resemblance to Ziggy, one of Patricia's dogs. Ziggy had cancer and was put to sleep shortly before 9/11.
