Historical Notes
Tsunami, a black German shepherd trained in rescue work, served at Ground Zero with her handler Hal Wilson. On September 12, 2001, Wilson and Tsunami self-dispatched with another handler and dog from Long Island. Both dogs worked at Ground Zero and successfully alerted humans to the presence of victims whose bodies were recovered.
