Native New Yorker Nicholas Lassman worked as a golf pro in Florida before settling in Cliffside Park, New Jersey. He taught himself how to play the guitar, read Russian and German, and write computer programs, a skill that led to a job as a programmer at eSpeed, a subsidiary of Cantor Fitzgerald. On September 11, Nicholas was at work on the North Tower’s 103rd floor. He was 28 years old.
