Diane Semmling was a U.S. Coast Guard reservist when she self-dispatched to lower Manhattan on 9/11. At Ground Zero she worked to distribute food and water to rescue workers for the first few days following the terrorist attacks. She wore this hard hat and personalized it with printed labels. MST stands for her role in the Coast Guard, Marine Science Technician.
