Description Untitled prose poem created and handwritten by Ronald Keith Milstein, dated March 8, 1999.
Historical Notes Brooklyn-born Ronald Milstein lived in Whitestone, Queens. He wrote poetry, practiced calligraphy, and collected fountain pens. He was also passionate about animal rights. He abstained from meat, leather, and fur and gave cards with pro-animal slogans as gifts. On September 11, Ronald was working in a temporary administrative position at Fiduciary Trust on the South Tower’s 97th floor. He was 54 years old.
Curator's Comment Ronald Milstein often combined two art forms he loved, calligraphy and poetry, in handwritten creations. Here, in an untitled work from 1999, he reflected on a fleeting snowstorm. He frequently gave friends and family handwritten poems, along with antique pens from his collection. HIDE
