Historical Notes
A native of Queens, New York, U.S. Navy Officer Dennis Beck received this patch to commemorate his service as a crew member aboard the USS Carl Vinson on May 2, 2011. This is the date when the body of Osama bin Laden was transferred from a U.S. controlled airfield in Afghanistan and brought aboard the vessel for burial at sea.
