Historical Notes
Born in Jamaica, Queens, Peter Martin lived in Miller Place, Long Island, with his wife, Alice, and their three school-age sons. Peter collected antique rifles and belonged to a shooting club. A member of FDNY Rescue Company 2, he participated in rescue efforts in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, after the 1995 bombing. On September 11, Lieutenant Martin and his unit reported to the towers. He was 43 years old.
