Historical Notes
Born in Mineola, Long Island, Robert King lived in Bellerose Terrace with his wife, Theresa, and their three children. He was a skilled woodworker whose creations ranged from jewelry boxes to bunk beds. A firefighter with FDNY Engine Company 33, Robert used his firehouse’s woodshop to build a dining table for the house. On September 11, Firefighter King responded to the North Tower. He was 36 years old.
