Description
Nike brand jersey, size XXL New York Knicks City Edition, worn by Kristaps Porzingis. The jersey is dark blue with orange accents and reflective piping. On the front is the Maltese cross with the number 6 in the center. "Knicks" is printed in the top crossbar. "N.Y.C" is in the bottom crossbar. A hook and ladder are printed in the left crossbar, and a fire hydrant appears in the right crossbar. The Nike logo is printed in silver on the upper left breast, and the Square Space logo is sewn into the upper right breast. The tag attached to the lower left front of the jersey has "1/30/18 v Brooklyn" handwritten on the tag. Above the tag is printed "Once a Knick Always a Knick." On the back of the jersey is a large number 6 and the name "PORZINGIS" at the top. The name and number are both sewn on the jersey in bright orange fabric.

In the first months after 9/11, sports leagues and teams acknowledged the service of first responders. In addition to inviting emergency workers to games and donating to relief efforts, some teams incorporated tributes into their uniforms. Years later, these practices continue. In 2018, the New York Knicks wore basketball uniforms paying tribute to the New York City Fire Department at seven home games at Madison Square Garden. On the jersey and shorts are a version of the Maltese cross symbol used by the FDNY.
