Historical Notes Born in the Bronx, Joseph Holland lived with his wife, Kathleen, and their newborn son in Glen Rock, New Jersey. He worked at the New York Mercantile Exchange near the World Trade Center as a crude oil trader for Carr Futures. On September 10, Joseph handed out cigars to colleagues to celebrate his son’s birth. On September 11, he was attending a meeting on the North Tower’s 92nd floor. He was 32 years old.
