Description
Plastic hard hat with full brim and the interior ratchet suspension removed. The hard hat is white and covered in a variety of trade and commemorative stickers. On the front are two stickers of the PAPD logo with a black band across and "09/11/01" printed in the band. "ALWAYS HONORED" is printed twice above the logo and "NEVER FORGOTTEN" is printed twice below. There are also several American flag stickers, two shamrock stickers, multiple trade and union stickers, and commemorative 9/11 stickers, including the Port Authority commemorative sticker with an American flag over the Twin Towers. The back of the hard hat has a PAPD memorial sticker, and "WAT37" is printed in red on the brim.

Lieutenant William E. Keegan, Jr., wore this hard hat when he served as the Port Authority Police Department commander of the night shift operations at Ground Zero for the duration of the nine-month recovery period.
