Jose spent 19 years in the U.S. Army, including tours in Germany, the Persian Gulf during the Gulf War, and South Korea. On September 11, Sergeant First Class Calderon-Olmedo was at the Pentagon, where he served as an Army supply sergeant. He was 44 years old.
